Empower Your Team to Thrive with leadership coaching
When businesses empower their teams with autonomy and the freedom to let ideas mature, magic happens.
When businesses empower their teams with autonomy and the freedom to let ideas mature, magic happens.
Ever wondered what shapes your leadership? In this short video, I introduce my Red & Green behaviour model, using a metaphorical form (a matchstick figure) to break it down: legs as the foundation (silo-thinking vs. unified goals, knower vs. learner), torso as emotional control (defensive vs. internalising), arms as nurturing (command & control vs. coaching & leadership), and head as mindset (results at any cost vs. means to achieve).
I champion what I call an ‘Invisible Footprint’ approach… creating lasting impact in the businesses I partner with, not through visible accolades, but by cultivating growth, innovation, and resilience in the teams I coach. My focus is empowering leaders, talents and teams to thrive independently, leaving my presence as a quiet catalyst rather than a permanent mark. True success, to me, is inspiring others to unlock their potential and drive progress on their own terms.
With over 30 years of experience across diverse industries… from manufacturing in the shoe sector to crafting Formula 1 racing cars… I’ve applied this strategy globally, building environments where teams flourish and businesses advance through their own ideas and momentum.
With the breakneck speed in which business wins or loses in today’s environment, unified goals are the cornerstone of organisational success.
They align teams with a shared purpose, ensuring every member works towards a common objective with clarity and focus. This alignment enhances collaboration, enabling individuals from diverse backgrounds to combine their expertise, driving innovation and effective problem-solving.
A 'knower' believes they have all the answers, shutting down ideas and collaboration. This red behaviour can create rigid teams and stifle innovation.
In contrast, a 'learner' embraces curiosity, welcomes feedback, and cultivates growth – a green behaviour that drives trust and adaptability.
Whether you’re leading a team or aspiring to, adopting a learner mindset is key to thriving in today’s fast-changing world.
As leaders, our emotional core… represented metaphorically as the torso in the Red & Green leadership behaviours model… shapes how we connect with our teams and drive organisational success.
In this model, Red behaviours reflect reactive, defensive tendencies that disrupt team dynamics, while Green behaviours embody self-aware, accountable, and adaptive leadership.
Transitioning from Red to Green in the torso, the emotional centre of leadership, is essential for creating thriving workplaces.
As leaders, our guiding behaviours… represented metaphorically as the Arms in the Red & Green leadership behaviours model… shapes how we nurture our teams and drive organisational success. With our metaphorical model in mind.
The Red arms: The old-school, “do as I say” command-and-control style, like a grumpy drill sergeant clutching a dog-eared rulebook.
The Green arms: The warm, empowering leadership-and-coaching approach, like a mentor who hands you a coffee and says, “Let’s make great things happen!”
In today’s fast-paced, ever-changing world, flexing the Green arms isn’t just a nice-to-have, it can be the secret sauce for building thriving teams and organisations.
